Hellwigs'
Son Raised Alpacas, LLC was founded
by our son Zachary in 2005. He came home with an idea and our
family made it a dream come true. Patricia grew up on a beef farm
that her parents continue to maintain and run "Oxbow Acres".
She is a Nutritional Educator for Eat Smart NY. She has experience
in web page design and computers. Dan grew up in the Ellicottville,
NY. His parent's live in the third oldest house in Ellicottville.
Dan works in project development in Buffalo, NY. You can learn

Founder
Our son Zachary was only 18 months old when he discovered alpacas.
Zachary was enchanted by our neighbor's herd. Each day we took a walk,
Zachary would beg us to go visit the kind, gentle alpacas. No bigger
then a cria himself, Zachary was mesmerized by the alpacas.
As he matured, his interest did not subside, but grew as he did. More
alpacas came to our neighborhood and Zachary's love for alpacas continued
to evolve, inspiring us to begin our family's farm.
We could not have started Hellwigs' Son Raised Alpacas without giving
Zachary the credit he deserves. Like a growing child, Hellwigs' Son
Raised Alpacas grows with love.
We carefully picked our starting herd before making such a big decision.
We visited 13 different farms in New York State, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
We increased our herd, breeding to top service sires. We feel we started
a sound foundation to our farm.
We continue to make decisions as a family, always checking with the
Founder.
